Hi Readers/Players,

Well today I am writing from America, where I flew to today, and just for a change, a lady decided to collapse in the rear galley! This is actually quite a regular occurance as it happens, on average every third or fourth long haul flight I do, so I'm used to it. What I'm not used to though is the passenger not coming round immediately. Infact the lady was pretty much incoherent and laying on the galley floor for about 20-30 minutes. This was quite scary and got my adrenalin going, and what was worse, there were no other crew around to help me and I obviously couldnt just leave her!

Fortunatley, we had a group of about 46 RAF ladies and gents onboard, some of whom were giving me grief at the back of the plane at the time (you know who you are! ) so, bless their little cottons, they looked after this poor lady for me, while I got some help. We got the lady on oxygen, got some blankets as needed and eventually she came round properly, gathered her bearings and was fine. I'm sure it was just lack of food and dehydration really - note to yourselves, before any flight, make sure you are well hydrated, have eaten and have had a decent amount of sleep as 4-5am starts are killers, and more prone to see you feeing ill in the air. And if you dont feel well, call the crew from your seat, don't come to the galley if you think you may pass out as it's safer for you if you're already sitting down, incase you don't quite make it to the galley/toilet you were aiming for!

Anyway, these RAF passengers were brilliant, not just for helping out a hostie in need, but also for their sense of humour during a long flight (and 2 hour delay!), and just making my job so much more enjoyable. Today was one of the best flights I have ever done, mainly because my passengers, RAF and otherwise, were all so lovely, and friendly. If I coud have upgraded you all, I would have.

Incase you hadnt guessed, the main gist of this post is really just a little thankyou note and aknowledgement, so thanks very much guys, it was a pleasure flying with you!

Hey Everyone,

As you will know from my last blog entry, I am a little trolley dolley in the sky! This is all well and good until there is a potential problem….AKA the weather! Whoever decided that people should be able to travel by air was a genius, but he (I presume it was a 'he' due to the universal female loathing of rain and wind and it's effect on our perfectly GHD'd hair) did not anticipate turbulence in bad weather, poorly, vomiting passengers and the inability to land!

Yes, that's right, inability to land. Twice in as many days we have been all strapped in, waiting for a bumpy, heavy landing, when suddenly the engines power up and we head for the skies again! "Woo hoo" the kids shout, whilst the parents let out a little cry, cover their own eyes and wonder what the hell just happened.

Actually, I quite enjoy these little unusual events - but try telling that to an already nervous passenger, made worse by air pockets and turbulence. It's cruel really but I have to laugh. Human reaction is such a funny thing. If we had an emergency on board, I am trained to deal with it and would remain calm and collected, most wouldn't. If I won the lottery on the other hand, I would be going crazy, running round the room, screaming away. Hmmmm, I think most would. Anyhow, that brings me to the results of today's Daily Play draw (well yesterday's now.) and I'll write again soon.
